Stephen Manning
I have been a qualified counsellor for over ten years and am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am, essentially, a Person-centred counsellor. I also use Solution-focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
I have worked in a variety of settings including as an affiliate counsellor with several Employee Assistance Providers, as a counsellor in a doctor’s surgery and as staff counsellor with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister here in the UK. I have been in private practice since 2001.
Each counselling relationship is unique and is defined by the character and requirements of each individual client. I aim to provide a trusting and supportive relationship within which you feel safe enough to explore the problems you are facing, to talk confidentially about how you feel, to become more self-aware, and to work towards a more satisfying and authentic life. I will do this in ways which respect your values, abilities and culture.
