Well I do understand that this is more of a philosophical question than a technical one, that is what exactly defines the boundaries of sanity and insanity? Isn’t it all arbitrary social conventions at some level? I mean, yes, depression and schizophrenia etc are caused due yo fluctuating levels of neurotransmitters in the brain, and also due to genetics and various environmental factors, but I’m referring to the normal definition of insanity as used by a lay person. That’s when someone is called mad just because that person is not like everyone else….. It so happens that people who think differently and does things differently are often labelled Indonesians sometimes forced to undergo treatment etc. So in that case, isn’t there a dire need to explain this to the public in a more lucid language?

Hi. Lately I’ve been feeling emotionally unstable. I’m not sure if I’m paranoid or something but I think my mother is trying to get rid of me. I’ve also developed this crazy feeling that all my activites are constantly being monitored by someone with bad intentions. Please help. I don’t want to end up doing something I’ll regret.
